Mouth Cancer Screening

Mouth cancer, also known as oral cancer, can develop anywhere in your mouth, including inside the cheeks or on your gums, lips, or tongue.

Like most cancers, if caught early, it is far less likely to spread to other parts of the body.
Dr Amin offers regular mouth cancer screenings for our patients.

What are the symptoms of mouth cancer?

The symptoms of mouth cancer may include:

  • Persistent mouth sores that may bleed
  • An unusual growth or lump inside your mouth
  • Loosening teeth
  • Difficulty speaking, chewing or swallowing
  • Mouth, cheek, or ear pain
  • Red or white patches on your gums or inside your mouth

Who has the highest risk of developing mouth cancer?

Mouth cancer generally affects older adults, ages 50-74, and about twice as many males as females.

However, people of all ages, genders, and ethnicities are at risk especially if they smoke or drink alcohol.

What happens if the dentist finds evidence of mouth cancer?

If Dr Amin detects anything of concern during your screening, he will refer you to a specialist for further testing.

Regular oral cancer screenings can save your life.
Call us on 01474 352990 to book your dental exam and oral cancer screening. We encourage you to contact us if you notice any signs of oral cancer or experience any other type of dental issue. We are committed to helping you stay in good health.
